Saarbrücken/Feldkirchen, November 2025 – On November 6, the Saarland Transport Association (saarVV) celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Ursapharm Arena in Saarbrücken. As a long-standing partner and system supplier, the ATRON Group was also a guest at the anniversary celebration. ATRON has been supporting saarVV since its foundation in 2005 and today supplies the entire Saarland region with modern hardware and software solutions for reliable and sustainable public transport.

The “20 Years of saarVV” anniversary celebration was not only an occasion for a lively party with interesting encounters and good conversations, but also sent a strong signal for sustainable mobility and responsibility. In her speech, Petra Berg, Saarland's Minister for the Environment, Climate, Mobility, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection, underlined the importance of public transport for a successful transport transition in Germany.

Another symbol of sustainability was the tree donation campaign organized on site: all guests were invited to symbolically purchase trees, which will then be planted in suitable locations in Saarland. A total of 164 trees were collected, a number that saarVV doubled to an impressive 328. The ATRON Group also participated in this forward-looking campaign with five tree donations.

Comments on the anniversary celebration
“I would like to express my sincere thanks once again for the invitation to the anniversary celebration. It was a joyful and inspiring evening with many good conversations. As a partner from the very beginning, we look forward to many more years of good and trusting cooperation,” said Barbara Brunner, Managing Director of the ATRON Group.

All transport companies in Saarland are members of the Saarland Transport Association, which was founded in early 2005. This means that passengers can use the local transport services of any transport company in Saarland with just one ticket. The individual tasks of the Saarland Transport Association are carried out by Saarländische Nahverkehrs-Service GmbH (SNS GmbH). In 2023, saarVV transported over 76 million passengers with 780 vehicles and more than 2,300 employees.
