Successful implementation of the project eTicketing in the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV)

In a joint procurement process, the Hamburger Hochbahn AG (HOCHBAHN) with their subsidiaries*, as well as the Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH (VHH) with the Kreisverkehrsgesellschaft in Pinneberg mbH (KViP) including their connected companies **, have tasked the ATRON electronic GmbH from Markt Schwaben with equipping the vehicle fleets for eTicketing The order includes the delivery of 3,100 entrance control and sales terminals of the type ACT 420, as well as 1,550 driver terminals of the AVT series.
The Hamburger Hochbahn AG provided positive feedback explicitly for the excellent performance of the ACT 420 during inspection and sale. Until mid 2019, the entrance control and sales system from ATRON will be installed in all buses of the HOCHBAHN. The devices are equipped with a quick card reader, as well as high-performance software, which enables the validity control of tickets in a quick and easy way by attaching the medium. With the HVV card, a direct ticket purchase by the passenger is also possible. Passengers as well as transport companies benefit from quick entrance control, as well as the fast, direct, electronic ticket purchase via the HVV card.

The Hamburger Hochbahn AG (HOCHBAHN), founded in 1911, transports more than 1.2 million passengers daily with its own vehicle park of more than 250 underground trains and 1,000 buses. The HOCHBAHN serves more than 1,400 stops as one of 34 partners in the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV), and is the largest transport company in the HVV area of application. Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH
The Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH (VHH) with its headquarters in Hamburg is the second largest local transport company in northern Germany with ca. 1,600 employees and 533 buses. The transport company was founded in 1905. The VHH is a partner in the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) and offers passenger transport with buses in the metro region of Hamburg. The VHH transports around 106 million passengers per year. The transport area of the VHH reaches from Wedel in the west over Quickborn in the north to Lauenburg in the eastern Hamburg region.
