ATRON receives VDV-KA certification for the new AFR 5 vehicle computer

At the beginning of May 2024, ATRON electronic GmbH was the first terminal manufacturer to receive the certificate for the AFR 5 as a VDV-KA acceptance terminal. The certification applies to both static authorization checks and Motics tickets.

The certification also for inspections according to the current Motics standard underlines the exceptional position of the AFR 5 as the universal tool at the driver's workplace," says Alexander Giegerich, Head of Sales & Marketing at the ATRON Group.

Since its introduction in 2010, the powerful vehicle computer of the AFR series has become an indispensable all-in-one device for the driver's workplace in buses and streetcars. In mid-2023, ATRON launched the latest generation, the AFR 5. To date, more than 80,000 vehicles across Europe have been equipped with ATRON vehicle computers.
